Lest We Forget

Given today is the 100yr anniversary and the kids have been learning about the Anzacs at school (and showing much interest) we thought the least we could do was attend the Gisborne Anzac Memorial Service this morning.

We stood and listened to stories from the Anzac campaign and how some locals were affected.  Both Jorja & Cooper showed reverence and respect during the service and I was extremely proud of them.  I'm sure they don't understand the sacrifices all those men & women made in order for us to live the lives we're now living; but they knew this was an important day to remember and pay their respects.

The Lords Prayer, Amazing Grace and the Last Post made even the hardest a little misty eyed as we all bowed our heads to remember.

For all those who have served and continue to serve so that we may live in the peaceful country we do... Thank you... and Lest We Forget .

Bet it was a frosty morning in Gisborne! The kids are growing up way too fast!
