What's a long weekend without a camping trip... not a very good long weekend! So, instead of our initial plans of heading to the banks of the Murray (with all the rain we've had our usual camp site was under water) we decided to head to BENDIGO!
Nice and close, easy to get to and probably the best Big 4 we've come across yet! It had an indoor play centre attached to it. Like one of those ones you pay to take your kids too... hours of entertainment for the rugrats! Not to mention the play ground, swimming pool and of course the go karts!!

We ventured into Bendigo on Saturday and had a look around... boys with boys and girls with girls. Actually managed to find & buy Jorja's Graduation outfit... bonus!
Then on Sunday it was ADULTS day... so we headed to a couple of wineries which was very nice and very civilized!
Sunday (late afternoon) saw us farewell the Lawrence clan as they had to work on Monday. Then on Monday we thought we'd take in Bendigo Pottery where the kids got the opportunity to create something with clay.
After the pottery class we headed to the most amazing place... Confectionery Capers. This place was full to the brim with moving, clanking, banging, honking things that you couldn't take your eyes off! There was something to see everywhere you looked!! On top of that, it was all interactive so it kept the kids (and the adults) entertained for aaaaaages!
The whole place was full of little brain teasers, or 'play on word' scenarios that really got you thinking and certainly had the kids stumped a couple of times! Here's just a few...
I'm sure the old fella who created and ran the place was a school teacher in a past life. It was a lot of fun!
Another great weekend spent with our wonderful friends the Williams' and the Lawrence's... and we've already penned in our next trip together... Flinders Ranges here we come!!
