Pretty in Pink...08.07.10

I had to take JMK back to the RCH to have her arm looked at by a doctor at the "Fracture Clinic". We had to get another set of x-rays first and then we headed to the clinic.

It seems it's a little worse off than what we first thought. Although the fracture is quite fine it's quite long and goes from the outside of her arm/bone into the joint. The problem with these kinds of fractures is that the fluid from in the joint can often seep into the fracture causing it to open up. This usually happens in the first 1-2 weeks of the injury... it hasn't happened to JMK at this stage and we're coming up to 2 weeks tomorrow. Hopefully there'll be no leakage and we won't have to get it operated on.

Hence the complete immobilisation!!! There's no movin' that baby!! JMK had a choice of about 7 colours for her cast... she ain't getting lost in a crowd with this one!!

We have to go back in two weeks time for more x-rays and the dr will decide what to do then!! Ahhhh the joys of clumsy kids... now I know how MY mum felt!!
