Traffic School... 14.05.12

CJK has been learning all about traffic and road safety at kinder over the last couple of weeks.  They've had THINGLE TOODLE (you know, the road safety mascot!!?) come and visit and they've had roads all set up at kinder.

Well today, it was the be all and end all of road safety... a trip to TRAFFIC SCHOOL!!  It was looking a little dreary on the drive down as the rain just persisted, but by the time we arrived the clouds split and the sun was shining through.  CJK and I arrived a little early so we found ourselves a quaint little coffee shop and fuelled up for the adventure ahead.  CJK had an OJ and I had a LARGE latte!!

He was very excited when we got there, but he did well to sit and listen to the Traffic School Teacher.  Once the Traffic School Teacher had helped the kids work out their left from their right they went for a walk around the circuit.  This was so they could get an understanding of all the different signs, lights, crossings and sounds that roads make!  All the kids paid attention perfectly.

After that, it was time to jump on the bikes and put what they'd learnt into practice!! A few red lights were zoomed through and a few STOP signs were ignored but other than that it was a successful morning of biking.
Going through a GREEN light!
Stopping off for some petrol

Even though the weather was a little dreary (what can you expect from Melbourne in May!) it didn't stop the kids getting out there and having fun.  They were all extremely well behaved and had a wonderful time.  I think even the grown ups had a good time too!

Is this the traffic school in Moonee Ponds that we went to in primary school?? How cool! If Cooper is anything like Kobe the street signs wouldn't have mattered!
