Ice Skating Party

Today was JMK's Ice Skating Birthday Party!!  She and four of her friends braved the cold to get out there and have a go at ice skating.  JMK was a little disappointed because her BFF Ava, came down with chicken pox on Friday and she wasn't able to make it :(  ... but the show must go on!

We got to the IceHouse, got our skates and then ventured out onto the rink.  As you can see from their faces some were raring to go and others were a little worried about the whole thing!!

Billi and Charli got the hang of it really quickly and started skating about on their own.  Jorja & Emily took a little while longer but got there confidence up in the end.  Poor ole Georgia just couldn't find her feet but managed to stay upright for most of the time.  

I ended up hiring a 'seal' which helped the girls steady themselves and get around the rink with a bit more ease!  For those who didn't want to skate, they were able to sit on the seal and go for a joy ride with their friends!!

JMK tells me she had a wonderful time and loved ice skating... I'm not sure why given she spent most of her time like this... *lol*

After all our skating we were all starving, so we headed to La Porchetta for some pizza, soft drink and ice cream!!  With our bellies full and some time to kill we headed home so that JMK could open the gifts from her friends.

All in all I think it was a pretty successful day!  The girls all got along really well and they all seemed to have a wonderful time, even when they fell and got wet bums!  The biggest bonus was that there were no injuries... well, if you don't include my two blistered fingers from tying all the girls skate laces AND the cut on my leg from falling and kicking myself with my ice skate... which resulted in a ripped pair of jeans!!!
