Brissie Trip - 4th to 7th Sept 09

It's been a while since the last post but that's because not much has been going on... you'll be pleased to know that this one will be a doozy!

Last weekend for CJK & I was spent in sunny, warm Brisbane while JMK and Daddy got to spend some Daughter/Daddy time together in Melbourne. As you will see we were all very very busy!

CJK and I flew into Brissie on Friday night for a visit with Auntie Kirsty, Uncle Harro and of course the beautiful baby Chloe. We arrived in at around bed time so we said our quick hello's and got the two munchkin's into bed.

The next morning we did get THE BEST COFFEE IN BRISBANE from none other than Chloe Marie... check out her style on the coffee machine!!

As is always the case when we visit Auntie Kirsty, not a minute is spent idly, they always have something fun for us to do so on Saturday we headed to the State Library of Queensland to have some fun in "The Corner". There was interactive play, drawing, pasting, computer fun and heaps of other cool things to do.

CJK had a great time with the wooden block people, lining them up and then whacking them all down, "whelan the wrecker" style...

... all the while Auntie Kirsty and Chloe were having a rather civilised cup of tea together... oh lah dee dah!

After that we headed back to Southbank for a yummy milkshake and a bit of a run around on the grass and through the leaves.

Back home to Auntie Kirsty's so the munchkins could have a sleep and us grown ups could have lunch and a bit of a relax.

Auntie Kirsty's backyard proved to be a real winner. There were flowers and grass to pick and use as ticklers...

...hills to run down...

...fences to peek through...

... balls to kick, throw, roll and chase...

... crazy games to play with crazy Auntie Kirsty...

... and of course special times spent between me and my little man!

If I were to be completely honest I would have to say the kids had the most wonderful time of all just exploring and playing in the backyard... it was just one of those lovely times.

Sunday, which of course was Father's Day, was spent at the "Crocodile Park"... which I think we worked out was actually the "Dragon Park". There were swings, slides and forts to climb all over and Uncle Harro did a wonderful job of playing Dad to Chloe and substitute Dad for the day to CJK. Yet again the kids had a ball and the grown ups enjoyed it just as much!

As is always the case, our time with Auntie Kirsty, Uncle Harro and Chloe was waaaay too short but we enjoyed every minute of our time with them. Chloe and CJK played so well together and I do believe they will be great little friends as the years go by... especially if their Mum's have anything to do with it!

Of course, while CJK and I were busy up in Brisbane, JMK and her Daddy were busy enjoying Angus' 2nd Birthday Party on Saturday and the Collingwood v St Kilda game at the G on Sunday... JMK's first football game. She loved the footy, however she wasn't too impressed with Collingwood losing!!
