JMK and CJK got some water gear from Santa this year and we took it away to Lake Cairn Curren with us, however they didn't really get a chance to play with it. There wasn't really any sand to be able to build sand castles with and the water was really quite dirty so the squirter guns didn't really appeal either.
So, we headed to Nana and Poppy's place so that we could see them as well as head down to the beach for a little frolicking in the sand and the sun. A big bonus to our visit was that Jordan was there, JMK & CJK's older cousin. He kept JMK & CJK well amused, they had an absolute ball.
Here's some pics of our afternoon down at Portarlington Beach. The kids loved splashing about in the shallows, playing with their new things, building a Mummy turtle and two baby turtles in the sand (they were very cute and very good) as well as running poor Jordy off his feet!! One thing the kids weren't too keen on... the salt water!! They kept coming up to me spluttering and spitting in need of a drink... I guess JMK & CJK are so use to the "fresh" (I use that term loosely) water of the Murray!!
